What We Do

STEM WA is a Not-for-profit company that supports STEM programs in WA to promote and develop STEM skills, opportunities, and future pathways to school communities throughout WA by providing mentorship and real-world experience with Defence and Industry links.

Our current activities in WA support the:

  1. Re-engineering Australia (REA) STEM Racing
  2. REA Subs in Schools
  3. STEM WA Mini ROV
  4. MATE ROV Scout, Navigator and Ranger Classes

STEM WA’s aims:

  1. Support to participating students with industry ready STEM skills and knowledge to make informed decisions about career pathways in the Defence and Industry.
  2. To increase the schools (including regional schools) participating in these STEM programs
  3. Engage Defence and Industry to support STEM activities in WA
  4. Maintain, develop, and support a network of schools to work with and participate in STEM WA programs and competitions across WA
  5. Work with key stakeholders to support the continuance of the WA Oceania Championships for the above STEM competitions.
  6. Actively look to remove barriers that prevent students from participating in STEM activities

STEM WA will deliver our aims through the following key activities:

  • Promote the awareness of STEM programs within schools
  • Identify innovative technologies to engage regional schools in WA
  • Provide Industry a pathway to promote STEM roles in Defence and Defence Industry
  • Reducing cost as far as possible to increase the number of students that are exposed to STEM Careers in WA
